In August 2021, I brought Astro out for one day of fun at Hunterdon Hills Kennel Club in New Jersey and Astro won a regular Toy Group 4 under judge Cindy Vogels.

I had intended to special Astro after he completed his GCH, with the goal of earning a Westminster invite. Unfortunately, due to COVID we saw the cancellation of dog shows in the Northeast for a year, and I was unable to travel due to restrictions at my place of employment.

Now I have several class entries who weren’t able to show at all as youngsters, who must take priority, so Astro has largely retired from the show ring. Just prior to the pandemic, he produced three litters and has one daughter from each litter in different corners of the country. Stealth just finished her championship in the northeast and has 4 GCH majors. Judy, in the Northwest, won a regular Toy Group 1 from the classes for her first major and finished her championship with a major win over specials. His third champion daughter, Ella, in the southeast, has majors from placing over top-ranked specials. We are so excited for the success of his offspring.

After only attending two shows as a special, Astro and I attended the 2019 AKC National Championship and won an Award of Merit under Clay Coady in an entry of 33 Toy Manchester Terriers!
