Upcoming Litters

We are expecting puppies in late December from Valor and Rush. Please email us if you would like to learn more about our breeding plans and getting on our wait list.

If you are not sure about when you’d like to add a new puppy to your home, or you are interested in a puppy in 2025 or later, it’s always best to reach out sooner. You can always pass on a litter if the timing is not right.

Health is very important to us. All of our Manchester terrier puppies come from parents who have had the recommended and optional heath testing as determined by the American Manchester Terrier Club and the OFA for the Toy Manchester Terrier. You can view the tests on ofa.org.

Please note: At this time we are concentrating our breeding program on the Toy variety of Manchester Terriers. However, we do occasionally get a puppy in our litters that may turn out to be a small Standard. Toys are sized at 12 lbs and under. Our small Standards would be 13 to 15 lbs. We focus on breeding from Toy lines because our dogs live in our home and it is important that our dogs get along with each other.

We do everything we can to give our puppies the best start in life. It starts with the idea that our dogs are family first. All of our dogs live in the home with us and our puppies are raised in a loving home environment with the best care possible.

Maximal Toy Manchester Terriers
Our mothers and puppies are never unattended. We even sleep with them at night to ensure their comfort and quick attention to their needs.

All of our dogs receive breed-specific and recommended genetic testing and health exams with veterinary specialists before breeding to ensure that we are always producing the healthiest puppies that we can. We screen each of our dogs for the following diseases*:

  • *NEW* Progressive Retinal Atrophy – Progressive Rod Cone Dengeneration (PRA-PRCD)
  • von Willebrand’s Disease
  • Juvenile Dilated Cardiomyopathy
  • Xanthinuria type 2A
  • Autoimmune thyroiditis
  • Legg-Calv-Perthes
  • Patellar Luxation
  • Eye Examination by a boarded ACVO Ophthalmologist
  • Cardiac Evaluation by a Verterinary Cardiologist

In addition to rigorous health testing, we are very careful in the selection of our breeding pairs and strive to produce puppies with friendly, confident, outgoing and loving temperaments.

Our Manchesters want to be doing what you are doing, even if that means watching you answer emails while they stare at you adoringly.

We pay close attention to other important factors that influence the health and temperament of our puppies such as inbreeding coefficients, pedigree information, and the knowledge that comes from watching past generations grow and develop. All Maximal Toy Manchester Terriers can be traced back to the first Manchester Terrier that was given to me by my mother in 1994.

We follow the Puppy Culture method of raising our puppies. This approach to raising puppies sets them up for success with a research-backed approach to raising confident, resilient and easily trainable companions. They receive an introduction to basic training that sets them up for a lifetime of success. By the time they are ready to go home at 9 weeks, they have received an introduction to the click and treat method which sets them up to be easily trained for nearly any task in the future, crate training, litterbox training, and house training. In fact, we say that you don’t have to train your Manchester puppy to use the bathroom outside, you just have to be careful not to untrain your puppy! We will make sure you have all the knowledge needed to continue your puppy’s training once he or she comes home.

Maximal Manchester Terrier puppies also go home with:

  • Life-time health guarantee, including reimbursement up to the purchase price of your puppy, should they be diagnosed with Legg-Calve-Perthes disease (LCP).
  • fully health tested parents according to AMTC and OFA recommendations
  • health certificate issued by a veterinarian certifying your puppy is free of congenital or acquired disease at the time of purchase
  • microchip implanted and registered in your name to ensure that if your puppy is lost or stolen it can always be traced back to you (cost covered in purchase price)
  • AKC papers registered in your name (at no additional charge)
  • age-appropriate vaccinations administered by our veterinarian
  • age-appropriate de-worming protocols and parasite screening by our veterinarian
  • free 30-days coverage of pet health insurance immediately available to cover any gaps in coverage due to waiting periods for your insurance of choice
  • detailed information to bring to your first vet appointment to ensure your puppy gets off to the right start with preventative veterinary care, including information to answer veterinarian FAQs about the breed, anesthesia recommendations, and genetic testing
  • puppy packet with some food to last a few days, collar, ID tag, leash, toys, treats, a natural chew toy and a blanket with the scent of your puppy’s mother and siblings to help them with the transition and more!

We differentiate ourselves from other breeders by providing all of the above at no additional charge.

Purchasing a Manchester Terrier

By purchasing a Manchester Terrier puppy from a breeder who seeks to raise their dogs ethically and responsibly, you are helping to preserve a rare and beloved breed. You are helping to support breeding practices that place the care and happiness of the dogs as the number one priority. And most importantly, your support of a responsible breeder is helping to put irresponsible breeders out of business, thereby reducing the population of dogs in shelters and rescue.
